The Hoffmann family is happy to present you its villa located directly on the shore on Giens peninsula, where you can spend an unforgettable holiday by the Mediterranean...
The villa was built in 1889 and totally refurbished in 2003. It is located on the North-West coast of Giens peninsula, which is part of the Hyères islands protected seashore area. It is 400 m away from the small port of La Madrague and 1.5 km from Giens village. From the villa, the view extends from Saint-Mandrier peninsula which borders on Toulon harbour, with Mont Faron in the background, through Carqueiranne across the bay, and up to the beach leading to the peninsula.

The shore in front of the house: In front of the villa, the sea is shallow for about 50 metres from the shore, forming channels, pools and hills with a depth varying between 0.5 and 3 metres. Except near the landing stage, it is grown with posidonies, a locally protected variety of sea grass (snorkelling area). A sandy patch in front of the sea gate forms a small beach, which is fine and safe for young children. Although it is not a conventional beach, grown-ups can swim off from it. The water near the shore remains clean thanks to water level variations caused by the wind, and tends to be warmer than in the open sea. There are small beaches on the South coast of the peninsula (500 metres away by foot, going 50 m uphill and then down), and large beaches 1500 m away both East (the long beach which links the peninsula to the continent) and West (after La Madrague). Sailing and windsurfing: This villa is particularly suitable as a base for sailing, motor boating or windsurfing: a private landing stage is available, a gate allows hauling a boat into the garden, and there is storage room for equipment. The Giens bay is a famous windsurfing spot (European championships etc.). It is safe, as strong winds usually blow towards the beach. The beautiful islands of Porquerolles, Port-Cros (national park) and Le Levant are nearby. Sports: A diving club and a canoeing club can be found at La Madrague. The small port also has an incline for boats (reasonable fee) and a motor boat rental. There is a horse riding club just below Giens hill. Young children: the villa is specially equipped for young children (cot with bed linen, binding cushion, pot, safety gates at indoor and outdoor stairs, small tables and chairs - no high chair for safety reasons). The shore in front is safe for young children, who like to play on the small shallow beach. Teenagers will make the best out of the activities offered by the sea (windsurfing, snorkelling, paddling, going to the beaches). In the holiday season, there are many opportunities for going out, either on the beach 3km away, at the yachting port of Hyères (8 km), or sometimes nearby at the small port of La Madrague. Shopping: At the small fishing and yachting port of La Madrague (400 m West), there is a grocery and general store, two restaurants and a pizza van we all can recommend. Giens (1.5 km) has a number of shops, a street market, a post office, etc. Supermarkets can be found in Hyères. Outings: the Hyères islands (Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant). The old city of Hyères. Toulon: the breathtaking Mont Faron and the arsenal. The Maures hills and the historic perfume factory at Collobrières. What you should
